Varia RearVue 820 features our most powerful and precise radar yet with a wider field of view, giving you more reliable alerts than ever before. The tail light offers up to 2 km (1.24 miles) of visibility and has a brake light that shows when you’re slowing or stopping.

• Vehicle Detection: The radar can detect approaching vehicles from up to 175 meters (about 190 yards) away. It provides visual and audible alerts on a compatible Garmin device (Edge cycling computer, smartwatch, or the Varia app on a smartphone).
• Advanced Tracking: A key feature is the ability to classify the size of the approaching vehicle (e.g., truck vs. motorbike), its lateral movement, and threat level, which helps riders anticipate traffic dynamics. It also includes "same speed tracking" to alert the rider if a vehicle is following at the same speed (acting as a "drafting sensor" for other cyclists).
• Integrated Tail Light: The device has a bright tail light with multiple modes (solid, peloton, night flash, day flash) that is visible for up to 2 kilometers (1.2 miles). It also functions as a brake light, flashing when the rider slows down.
• Battery Life: The rechargeable lithium-ion battery offers up to 24 hours in day flash mode and up to 30 hours in radar-only mode.
• Connectivity and Build: It connects via ANT+® and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and uses a modern USB-C port for charging. It is rated IPX7 for water resistance.
